Privacy and analytics
What happens to information when you use this site, in plain words. Last updated 5 October 2026.
The short version
- We never ask for your PAN, Aadhaar, SIN, account or card numbers, passwords or one-time codes (OTPs). You don’t need an account.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and tools are used.
- Your answers in our India tools stay in your browser tab. They are not sent to us or to Google.
- We don’t sell information, and the site shows no ads. Google’s own use of analytics data is covered by Google’s policies and the data-sharing settings of our Google Analytics account.
Google Analytics
Every page loads Google Analytics 4 (the gtag.js script from googletagmanager.com). It is run by Google.
What Google receives when a page loads: the page address and title, the page you came from, your browser and device type, screen size and language, and a random ID kept in a cookie. Like any website you connect to, Google also receives your IP address, and uses it to estimate a rough location such as your city or country.
Cookies: Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site, _ga and _ga_…, which tell visits apart and group them into sessions. By default they last up to two years. They don’t contain your name.
Automatic extras: depending on settings inside the Google Analytics account (not in this site’s code), Google Analytics may also record some interactions on its own, such as scrolling down a page or clicking a link to another website (for example, which official site you opened).
What our own tools send: the India recovery tools send short events such as “the checker was started” or “the checker was finished”, which tool it was, the first recovery page you opened in this tab, and a few outcomes of the tools themselves: whether the old share value finder’s verified data could produce an estimate (and, if not, the general reason, such as “company not in our verified data”), and whether a case-review form check failed. They never send your answers — not whether a shareholder has died, not your relationship to them, not whether you have certificates, not dates, company names, numbers of shares or amounts, and not the route the checker suggested.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser, use a private window, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on ↗. The site works the same either way.
What stays in your browser
The India recovery tools (the checker, the special-window checker and the old share value finder) keep your answers in this browser tab’s session storage, so the next step can use them. Your answers are not sent to us or to Google. The tools also keep a note of the first recovery page you opened in this tab, the page that sent you there and any campaign tags in the link (the utm_… part). From that note, our tools send one thing to Google Analytics: the address path of the first recovery page you opened (for example /india/recover/), attached to the tool events described above. Our tools do not send the other two. Google Analytics itself receives each page’s address and the referring page when a page loads, as described above. What is kept in the tab is deleted when you close it.
Nothing you type is ever put into a web address.
The case-review form
Case review is not open yet. The form can’t be submitted, and nothing you type in it is sent or saved. If you start typing in it, we count only that the form was started, never what you typed. We will update this page before that ever changes.
Links to official websites
When you follow a link to a government, regulator or other official site, you leave Let’s Find Money. That site’s own privacy rules apply. We add nothing about you to the link; your browser may tell the other site that you came from letsfindmoney.com.
Changes
If what the site does with information changes, we change this page first and update the date at the top.
