How the claim works: The regulator does not search insurers centrally. This page is the official directory of every insurer's own unclaimed-amount portal — 24 life, 26 general and 6 health insurers — so you check the insurer you held the policy with.

Your next steps

Gather what identifies you. Old addresses, maiden or former names, account or policy numbers, employer names and the years you were there. Most searches are by name, and old names matter.
Search every name you have used, and every spelling. Records are entered by hand and get misspelt.

Claim directly with the organisation that holds it. They will ask for proof of identity and proof of your link to the money. That is normal. A request for a fee to release the money is not.
